The Isle of Man based gaming software provider Microgaming recently announced the launch of their new game based on the popular Hollywood film franchise, Batman: The Dark Knight.

The announcement comes as Microgaming remove their popular Lord of the Ring: Fellowship of the Ring slot based on the hugely popular movies. The reason for removing this popular game is unknown but leaked reports suggest it has something to do with royalties. The announcement comes as Microgaming came to an agreement with DC Entertainment for the rights to the much loved Batman franchise.
The DC comic book first appeared in 1939 and has accumulated a cult following with fans of the black clad superhero all over the world. The 2008 film Batman: The Dark Knight was a predictably epic hit going on to become the third largest grossing film in history with over $1 billion in sales worldwide. Microgaming have also announced a game based on the upcoming sequel film appearing in cinemas this summer called the The Dark Knight Rises. The game based on this film is slated for release by Microgaming some time in 2013 and is a sure bet to be a huge success.
Some notable features of the new Batman slot are a progressive jackpot with four possible jackpots. There are, of course, many special bonuses as well as surprise random prizes. We are happy to announce that many of the big Microgaming brands will be offering the Dark Knight slot including All Slots Casino, JacpotCity Casino, Crazy Vegas Casino as well as other big names in the industry that know what is good for them.
